Laugh Track Comedy Fest

If you didn’t know already, we also run a comedy-only fest, Laugh Track Comedy Fest. It’s a unique mixture of stand-up comics and short films. Not only that, but we’re Denver’s ONLY comedy fest. If you’re a comedian or filmmaker that likes to make laughs,  Head on over to the Laugh Track website. We just finished up our successful 3rd season, and will be open for submissions again soon.

Folks, we pride ourselves on offering a quality experience for both our audience and our filmmakers. To ensure that we continue to abide by these high standards into our sixth season, we have made the decision to move the festival to February 20-24. There were a variety of circumstances that influenced our decision, and this is not something we took lightly.
We believe this is the best thing for the festival, for our fans, and for our filmmakers. We apologize that you’ll have to wait an extra month for the fest, but we promise the extra wait will be worth it!

Searching for Sonny makes the rounds

Last year’s Best Picture, Searching for Sonny, has been cleaning up on the fest circuit since it’s screening at Festivus 2012. With a dynamite cast, fantastic direction, and incredible writing, we expected no less. Check out this article about the film’s arrival at a fest coming up in Victoria, Texas (home state of Red Productions, the crew behind the film.) It’s a great piece focusing on superstar-to-be director Andrew Disney.

Kate O’Neill: Program Manager

Who’s that pretty lady with the big idea and the Kate Moss cheekbones? It’s Kate O’Neill, our new Program Manager! Kate’s been with the festival for years now, previously as our Volunteer Coordinator and member of the screening team. We’re excited that she has moved into this new and exciting role, and are confident she will do an excellent job. If you happen to see her around be sure to give her a pat on the back for being awesome. Congrats on the new spot Kate!

We are incredibly excited to announce that our 6th season will be January 23-27, 2013! But wait, that’s 5 days you might say. We will be moving from a 4 day event to a 5 day event for the first time.
