Feature spotlight: Dead Dad

by Richard

Synopsis: When their dad dies unexpectedly, estranged siblings Russell, Jane and their adopted brother, Alex, come home to tend to his remains. The three must overcome their differences to achieve a proper goodbye and discover what it means to be a family without their dad.

Our Recommendation: Dark comedy is a hard genre to get right. We think this film hits the sweet spot where morose and funny can co-exist. It’s honest and hopeful, which is a refreshing way to tell a story. It’s a nice change of pace from the cynical irony that’s so prevalent in indie comedies these days.

Screening on Thursday, Feb 21 at the Oriental Theater
